He said the police would not tolerate any deviant, indecent and immoral behaviour by revellers during the Easter festivities.

“Visitors must, therefore, comport themselves so as not to fall foul of the law,” he added.

In an interview with the Daily Graphic on security measures for the Easter festivities, Chief Superintendent Peprah said a number of measures had been put in place to ensure maximum security.

These include checks at selected places to look for undesirable characters who are likely to cause confusion during the festivities.

He said swoops had already been conducted in and around Nkawkaw, which led to the seizure of 421 bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.

“All these are to ensure the safety of all visitors, both local and international. We, therefore, want to assure all and sundry that we are firmly on the ground, since the police will deal with people who break the law,” he said.

He warned against the use of unlicensed motorbikes and hoped that people would obey the laws of the country.
