Police in Kuntenase face ejection
Eight police officers and their families at Kuntenase in the Bosomtwi District of the Ashanti Region face imminent ejection from their rented premises.
A letter indicating the final ejection notice written by the lawyers of the landlord, Mr Francis Owusu Ansah, put the final date of ejection at March 31, 2015.

However, when contacted, the Ashanti Regional Police PRO, ASP Yusif Tanko, said, they had asked for an additional grace period to look for accommodation for the affected personnel and their families.
Threat
In May last year, the landlord threatened to eject the police from the house for non-payment of rent but the district assembly intervened by settling part of the rent arrears. This appeased the landlord, who allowed the police to continue living in the house.
Around the same time last year, the belongings of 12 police officers at Jachie in the same Bosomtwi District were thrown out by the landlord for failure of the police to pay their rent for years.
Confirming the story, the District Chief Executive for the Bosomtwi District, Madam Veronica Antwi-Adjei, said she had been informed about the development by the district police commander but was yet to be given a full briefing on the issue.
She said even before that happened, she had initiated arrangements to get accommodation for the police officers.
