Police recruitment; GCB raises GhȻ1.7million in two days
The GCB Bank Limited (GCB) within the first two days of the sale of police recruitment electronic vouchers has raised over GhȻ1.7million.
A statement from the bank said it has so far sold over 17,000 vouchers to prospective recruits into the Police Service across the country on the second day of the three week exercise which started on Wednesday May 11, 2016.
This translates to over GhȻ1.7million as revenue to the Police service in relation to the recruitment process.
The GCB Bank is currently selling the recruitment vouchers at all its branches after resolving challenges that slowed down the sale of the vouchers on the first day.
The bank experienced a large number of prospective recruits at its branches on the first day which affected the smooth flow of the sale.
It however assured prospective recruits of its capacity to contain the situation and to continue to provide service throughout the three week period slated for the sale of the vouchers which ends on May 31, 2016.

The Police Service this year decided to resort to an electronic means in receiving applications as part of efforts at reducing the involvement of intermediaries.
Previous police recruitment have been marred by scams, with a recent one leading to the interdiction of the Director General of Human Resource, COP Patrick Timbillah in 2015.
With this year’s recruitment, applicants are to purchase vouchers at the GCB Bank across Ghana at the cost of GhȻ100 and then fill out their details online at the police website since the mode of application is done only online.
