Prayers will solve 'dumsor' in three months – Reverend Martey

The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey, has suggested that prayers can solve the country’s current energy crisis.

In an interview with Accra-based Adom FM Friday, Reverend Martey said joint prayers and supplication by all religious bodies in the country could help improve the power situation in the country within three months.

“Are you a Christian, a Muslim or a traditionalist? Then pray and see what the miraculous God can do.

“Do you believe in prayers, if yes, then let the entire nation pray to witness what God can do...in three months,” Reverend Martey said

His comments come in the wake of criticism from a section of the public, following comments he made to the effect that he could solve the power crisis if he was the President of Ghana.

Ghana is currently dealing with a power supply deficit of between 400 and 600 megawatts, which has made life difficult for individuals and businesses.
