Public sector employees who do not verify Ghana Card details on new e-Payslip platform by March 15 risk having salaries suspended - Controller
Any public sector employee who does not verify their Ghana Card details on the newly introduced e-Payslip platform by March 15, 2026, risks having their salaries suspended by the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD).
In a letter dated February 11, 2026, the Controller indicated that the recent introduction of an upgraded e-Payslip platform had uncovered significant data discrepancies within the government payroll system.
According to the CAGD, the inconsistencies largely concern National Identification Authority (NIA) numbers recorded on the payroll that do not correspond with official records held by the National Identification Authority (NIA).
The mismatch, the Department warned, could compromise the integrity of the mechanised payroll system.
To rectify the issue, the CAGD said it has instructed the Human Resource Departments of all affected “Covered Entities” to act without delay to reconcile the discrepancies.
The directive requires institutions to ensure that every employee on the government payroll is accurately linked to their verified biometric identity as captured under the Ghana Card system.
