SAFOAD donates to Muslims
The Society for the Assistance for Orphans and Disabled (SAFOAD), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has donated a quantity of items to some Muslims for the Eid-ul-Fitr festival in Accra.
The items included cartons of milk, Milo, bags of sugar and rice.
The donation was made to the Central Mosque, Islamic organisations and needy persons in the Greater Accra, Central and Volta regions.
The Executive Director of SAFOAD, Hajj Abubakar Yakubu Batalima, who presented the items to the beneficiaries, said his organisation decided to donate to the individuals and groups so that they could fast and celebrate the Eid successfully.
According to him, the Ramadan fast is one of the pillars of Islam and the teachings of the Quran require all Muslims who are healthy to participate in the religious injunction
Admonishment
Hajj Batalima used the occasion to admonish all Muslims to respect the teachings of Islam and lead worthy lives during the Ramadan and thereafter.
The beneficiaries thanked SAFOAD for the items and prayed that the organisation would continue to support the needy in society.
