St Ann’s Basic School gets new block
The New Juaben Municipal Assembly has put up a three-unit classroom block for the St Ann’s Basic School in Koforidua in the Eastern Region. The building, which cost GH¢129,423, was constructed with the aim of providing the pupils with enough space to enhance teaching and learning.
The new building replaced a makeshift structure that was demolished to pave the way for the current one. The assembly, in addition, renovated a two-unit classroom block for the school.

The New Juaben Municipal Chief Executive, Dr Kwaku Owusu Acheampong, handed over the keys to the new building to the Eastern Regional Manager of the Anglican Education Unit, Rev. Father Peter Otoo. He asked that the facility be properly maintained.
According to him, the government would continue to provide children of school age with good educational infrastructure to enable them to learn in a peaceful environment.
He cautioned management of the school against sacking children from school because they failed to pay motivation fees for teachers, since it was not part of school fees approved by the Ghana Education Service.
He commended the contractor who executed the project for working according to schedule.
Rev. Father Otoo expressed gratitude on behalf of the school to the municipal assembly for their intervention. He described the project as timely, considering the dangerous state of the old structure. He gave the assurance that the school would maintain the project and put it to good use.
