MobileMoney Fintech LTD proposes GH¢0.03 per share dividend for first quarter of 2026
MobileMoney Fintech LTD has announced an extraordinary general meeting to seek shareholder approval for a dividend of GH¢0.03 per share for the first quarter ending March 31, 2026, as well as authorisation for the board to declare and pay dividends for the second and third quarters of the financial year.
According to a notice issued on May 18, 2026, the EGM is scheduled to take place virtually on June 12, 2026, at 11 am GMT. Shareholders will also be asked to ratify the appointment of six directors following the merger of MobileMoney LTD and the company on 31st March 2026.
Dividend proposal
The board resolved and recommended a first-quarter dividend of GH¢0.03 per share on April 27, 2026. Shareholders are now being requested to approve the payout, which would mark the first quarterly dividend distribution under the merged entity.
In addition, shareholders will be asked to authorise the board to declare and pay dividends for the second and third quarters of the 2026 financial year, a move that would give the board flexibility to distribute returns to shareholders on a more regular basis.
Board appointments
Six individuals who previously served as directors on the MobileMoney LTD board are being presented to shareholders for approval, subject to Bank of Ghana clearance. They are: Mr Modupe Kadri as a Non-Executive Director; Mr Serigne Dioum as a Non-Executive Director; Mr Adekunle Benjamin Awobodu as a Non-Executive Director; Mrs Antoinette Kwofie as a Non-Executive Director; Ms Susan Yawson as an Executive Director; and Mrs Bashirat Odunewu as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
The appointments follow the merger of MobileMoney LTD and the company on March 31, 2026. The board, as part of its post-merger implementation process and in accordance with the merger agreement, appointed the former MobileMoney LTD directors to the board to substantially reflect the composition of the previous board and to ensure continuity in governance and oversight.
External auditor ratification
Shareholders will also be asked to ratify the appointment of Ernst & Young (EY) as the external auditor of the company, following the board's initial appointment of EY as the first auditor. The board is also seeking authorisation to fix the remuneration of the external auditor for the 2026 financial year.
