Suppport Mahama to succeed — Evangelical Presbyterian Church
THE Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) has urged all Ghanaians, irrespective of their political, tribal and religious affiliation, to bury their differences, to support the President-elect, John Dramani Mahama and his incoming government in the quest of Ghana's socio-economic growth required to instil confidence in the citizenry and potential investors
It said Ghanaians needed to demonstrate a high sense of affection, sensitivity and patriotism to preserve the country's long-standing peaceful and stable democratic values while rallying support for Mr Mahama.

In a congratulatory message to Mr Mahama and signed by the Moderator of the General Assembly, Rt. Rev. Dr Lt. Col. Bliss Divine Agbeko (Rtd), the church assured the in-coming NDC government of its firm allegiance and partnership in the areas of education, health, agriculture, advocacy in social interventions, including environment and climate change, as well as providing religious intercession, in accordance with our mission of "bringing light to where there is darkness".
Bawumia
It also congratulated the parliamentary candidates of the party who won their seats.
“The Church also commends the Vice-President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for demonstrating maturity and sincerity in conceding defeat and congratulating his opponent, Mr Mahama, for emerging victorious as the President-elect.
“Indeed, his prompt concession has eased the rising tension and averted possible chaos in some parts of the country,” it said.
It expressed gratitude to various political actors and relevant stakeholders, including the contestants and their followers, the media, local and international observer groups, diplomatic corps, the National Peace Council, National Commission for Civic Education, state regulatory institutions, such as security personnel and the Electoral Commission (EC), for their diverse roles played in ensuring a successful election.
