Take advantage of business opportunities in Ga West municipality

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Ga-West Municipal Assembly, Mr Sam Atukwei Quaye, has called on the business community to take advantage of opportunities that abound in the locality.

He also urged financial institutions in the area to devote resources to enhance the development of key areas such as education, health, sanitation and security.

The MCE was speaking at an event held in the municipality last Wednesday to unveil a new branch of the GCB Bank Limited.

The colourful event was attended by people from all walks of life including officials of the Ga West Municipal Assembly, traditional rulers and business people.

The Chief of Amasaman, Nii Oseiku Amasa II, joined the acting Managing Director of GCB Bank Limited, Mr Samuel Sarpong, and the MCE to officially unveil the building.

Mr Quaye said Ga West municipality was one of the fastest- growing local assemblies that presented greater opportunities, especially in agriculture.

“The area is vibrant for the growth of small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), estate developments, trading and other businesses are gradually drifting towards here,” he said.

GCB rebranding

Mr Sarpong said the decision by the company to extend its frontiers to Amasaman was due to the investment potentials in the area.

He said the bank was going through a four-year rebranding process that would ensure that it reached all areas across the country to render quality services to its clients.

“As the nation’s economy expands and brings with it opportunities for growth, GCB Bank will expand its reach by providing modern banking services to help accelerate economic growth,” Mr Sarpong stated.

He further observed that a mutual collaboration between the bank and SMEs was critical to facilitating the development of the area.

GCB recently launched the GCB Lite-play product which allowed merchants to accept card payments. The bank has also rolled out a mechanism with the aid of ICT that allows clients to get personal loans in a day.
