Trade Fair honours 21 industry players

The Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited (GTCL) has honoured 21 industry players who have been exhibiting and sponsoring the “Grand Sales Fair” held in Accra annually.

Organised on the theme, “Time with Industry Players,” the ceremony was also used as a platform of interaction between the company and its stakeholders on how best to strengthen the relationship between them.  

The organisations were presented with certificates of recognition for their support of the activities of the GTFCL over the years.

 

Awardees

The awardees include the Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Home Base Television, Choice Fm, Go Television, Green Fm, Live Fm, Multimedia Group of Companies and Despite Group of Companies.

Others are Midland Savings and Loans Limited, Blue Skies Juice Limited, M & G Pharmaceuticals Limited, Promasidor Ghana Limited, Somovision (Binatone), Baron Water House Limited, Africa World Airlines and Protege Investment and Business Solutions.

The rest are T.T. Brothers Limited, Mobile Zone (Tecno Phones), Rice and Sugar Shopping Centre and the Electricity Company of Ghana.

 

Conducive business environment 

Briefing the media after the ceremony, the Board Chairperson of the company, Ms Hannah Amoateng, urged the industry players to work hand in hand for a conducive business environment in order to help businesses flourish in Ghana and the sub-region.

She said for its part, the GTFCL would do its best to create a congenial atmosphere for businesses to prosper in the country, adding that the responsibility of the industry players could not be ruled out.

“We hope to partner investors across the globe to transform the company into a world-class international trade fair with ancillary facilities such as hotels and shopping malls,” Ms Amoateng said,

The board chair expressed appreciation for the contribution of the industry players and called for others to join and help the company realise its mission.

 

Twin fairs

In his address, a Member of the Planning Committee of the Grand Sales 2014, Mr Emmanuel Tetteh Adamitey, said to help improve this year’s exhibition, the company would hold the Grand Sales and the Made-in-Ghana Fair at the same time, to help promote locally manufactured products.

That, he said, was in line with the government’s policy and vision of promoting the patronage of locally manufactured goods.
