In a brief address before the presentation,  the Public Relations Officer, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (retd), said the university had a good working relationship with Vincent as a media person, hence, it was appropriate to render a helping hand.

Major Baah-Bentum assured him that the university was solidly with him even in his  challenging moments adding that “We will continue to pray for you and it is our hope and prayer that the good Lord will get you out of this soon.”

He also said the university would raise additional funds to cater for his medical bills.

In his response, Mr Cann expressed gratitude to the university for the support. He pointed out that the cost of dialysis and medication in a week alone was GH¢1,000.  He pledged to establish a kidney foundation if he recovered from the disease and used the opportunity to call on the government to also pay attention to persons with kidney diseases since the rate of infection was becoming alarming.
