At a brief but impressive handover ceremony held at Asokwa, the General Manager of the company, Mrs Akosua Konadu Osafo, said it was in appreciation of the enormous efforts on the part of the police in ensuring that there was law and order which allowed for the society to be free from trouble.

She said the renovation works was begun in 2014 and involved alterations to the windows and doors which were also burglar-proofed. In addition she said the structure was painted and provided with new window curtains and computers for the offices.

She disclosed that the gesture was also a part of her outfit’s social responsibility to the community and marked the beginning of greater collaboration between UTRAK Savings and the police.

Mrs Osafo called on other benevolent institutions to support the police in order that they may give their best and contribute to the transformation of the entire Ghanaian society.

The Asokwa District Commander of the Ghana Police Service, D.S.P. George Bawa, in his response, said the project had brought encouragement and dignity to the police service and commended the management and staff of UTRAK Savings and Loans Ltd for their support.

He assured the nation that the police would continue to work hard to create an atmosphere where people could go about their activities peacefully without fear of danger or intimidation.

He also urged all well-meaning Ghanaians and corporate institutions to support the police so that they might continue to serve the nation well.
