Western Region: Two die in head-on collision near Takoradi
Two people have died after a vehicle ran into another resulting in an explosion at Kikim in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region.
One person who is in critical condition is receiving treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

The two persons and the vehicles caught up in the fire were burnt beyond recognition before the arrival of the emergency response team from the Ghana National Fire Service.
According to the police, per the nature of the explosion, one of the cars involved in the accident might have been running on liquefied petroleum gas.
The incident, which took place at about 07:30 pm involved a mini bus with the registration number CR 2487 – Y and a Toyota Corolla with Defective Vehicle (DV) number plate.
Speaking to Graphic Online, the Ellembelle District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr. Thomas Bayor said the two vehicles were heading towards Esiama from Takoradi.
He said the mini bus had three passengers on board – the driver and his mate, who have been identified as Kwasi Inkoom and Kwame Akwedu respectively.
The third passenger, he said was a woman who is yet to be identified.

DSP Bayor said the driver of the Toyota Corolla however, escaped unhurt and is yet to report to the police to aid investigations.
