World Malayalee Federation Ghana donates $2,000 to support City of God project
In a demonstration of its commitment to supporting local communities, the World Malayalee Federation (WMF) Ghana has donated $2,000 towards the City of God project under its A Heart for Children initiative.
The donation, presented at a brief ceremony, was the proceeds from WMF Ghana’s annual musical event held in November.
The funds are earmarked to support early childhood education and primary healthcare initiatives, a core focus of the organisation's efforts to uplift underprivileged children.
Speaking at the ceremony, Derek Wilson, President of WMF Ghana, highlighted the organisation’s dedication to improving children’s welfare.
“Education and health are two critical pillars for any child’s future. At WMF Ghana, we believe in giving back to the community by empowering the youngest members of society. This donation is a step towards ensuring that children receive the support they need to thrive,” he said.
Mr Wilson also extended gratitude to the sponsors and supporters of the musical event, stating, “We would like to thank once again our title sponsors, all other co-sponsors, and the audience. Without them, this wouldn’t have been possible.”
The donation was presented to the Guardian Angel Day Care Center, one of the key beneficiaries of the City of God project, which focuses on providing quality early education and accessible healthcare to children in underserved areas.
The A Heart for Children initiative, led by WMF Ghana, is part of the federation’s broader vision to contribute to the well-being of local communities through targeted interventions.
The successful annual musical event and subsequent donation underscore the impact of collective efforts in driving meaningful change.
The City of God project, which has gained recognition for its efforts to improve the lives of children, continues to benefit from partnerships with organisations like WMF Ghana.
