According to him, total abstinence from early sex would prevent unmarried youth from becoming young parents who would not be in a proper position to care for their children.

He therefore, urged them to take their education seriously, stay away from hard drugs and alcohol, keep their vision and hopes alive and effectively work towards achieving their goals to become responsible adults.

Anniversary durbar

Addressing a durbar to climax the first anniversary of his installation as Kyidomhene at Breman Asikuma in the Central Region, Barima Fi said one of the key factors to enhance the future of the nation was to invest in the development of the youth.

As part of the celebrations, Barima Fi organised a series of events which included clean-up exercises and a donation to the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Hospital at Asikuma, a health screening exercise and a drug awareness campaign.

He stated that chiefs had a lot of plans for their communities which could only be achieved with support from the central government, stressing that he always prioritised education, which was the bedrock of development.

“We can, however, make modest achievements in the area of education with the provision of improved educational systems, accessible education from the basic to the tertiary level, as well as enhancing science and technology,’’ he indicated.

Collective responsibility

He reminded the people of their collective responsibility to the progress and development of their communities, and called on them to be united and collaborate with the chiefs and the government towards achieving such goals.

He appealed to citizens from the area occupying influential positions to offer the youth the needed assistance and support to enhance their growth and development.

He thanked the chiefs and people of the area, especially the Omanhene of the Breman Traditional Area, Odeefuo Amoakwa Buadu VIII, for his support since his installation as a chief a year ago.

Social vices

Odeefuo Buadu admonished the youth to avoid social vices that had the tendency to jeopardise their future.

He advised them to respect the elderly and also take their education seriously, since it was the best means to realise their goals and support national development.

He further admonished them to be focused in life so they could overcome challenges that might hinder the attainment of their goals.
