Covid-19 in Ghana: 891 new cases, 7 new deaths

Seven new Covid-19 related deaths have been announced by the Ghana Health Service (GHS), with 891 new positive cases bringing the country's total positive cases to 21,968.
Total deaths are at 129, total recoveries/discharge at 17,156, and 4,683 active cases.
The numbers also show there are 6 critical cases, 5 on ventilators and 22 cases described as severe.
According to the GHS, the update represents outcomes as at July 4. Samples were taken from the period 14th June to 3rd July, 2020.
Meanwhile there are reports of shortage of testing kits which situation has resulted in a slowed testing process and a backlog of samples awaiting testing, however Deputy Health Minister, Dr. Bernard Oko Boye has assured that enough kits have been procured to expedite testing and bring the process up to date.
