As President and Founder of the Lordina Foundation, Mrs. Mahama encouraged community members to utilize the free health screenings and prioritize their health. She also acknowledged the dedication of healthcare workers and urged attendees to engage actively by asking questions and seeking support.
In line with her foundation’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure, Mrs. Mahama donated essential medical equipment to the Tishigu Health Centre, including hospital beds, delivery beds, medical gloves, syringes, and baby care essentials.
“Quality healthcare should not be a privilege for a few but a right for everyone,” Mrs. Mahama emphasised, advocating for ongoing support of healthcare initiatives in rural areas. She added, “This is only the beginning. Every donation, every act of kindness, creates waves of change—change that is essential to rebuilding our country.”
Community appreciation
Tamale North MP Alhassan Sayibu Suhuyini, in whose constituency the event was held, expressed gratitude to the former First Lady, as well as to the chiefs and people of the area for their support. He noted the contribution of the local chief, who donated land for the health centre, and credited the MP’s Common Fund for helping complete the project.
The event, focused on health awareness, breast cancer screening, and general health education, aimed to encourage community participation in proactive healthcare and underscore the importance of accessible medical services for all.
