While receiving the equipment, Mrs Appiah expressed gratitude to Coach Hene Sports Club and Memorial Foundation for its benevolence to the unit over the years and requested more support.

In his response, Mr Afranie Jnr promised to supply the unit with heart monitors, which are currently needed.

Legend

The Coach Hene Sports Club was named after the legendary Ghanaian coach, E K Afranie, who spent some time at the unit before his untimely death eight years ago. It is one of the leading non-traditional grassroots clubs in North West England that has repeatedly signed players to top football academies.

Mr Afranie Jnr and a team of young coaches from Manchester are currently in the country to scout for young talented players for top European clubs such as Manchester City, and Manchester United, among others.
