Addison accuses EC of fraud

Defeated New Patriotic Party parliamentary aspirant in the Klottey Korle constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Philip Addison has accused the Electoral Commission (EC) of conniving with some constituency executives to rob him of votes.

Addison obtained a paltry 22 votes to place a distant second in the constituency primary held on Sunday, with his main contender, Nii Noi Nortey running home with 393 votes. A third contestant, Adjei Tawiah, got 19 votes.

But Addison told Accra based radio station Joy FM on Monday morning that, the EC was very much into a scheme to yield a particular result; to hand victory to Nortey.

The legal practitioner who said he was yet to take a decision on his next move told the radio station that a lot of people in the constituency were angry with what he described as a sham of an election.
