That, according to the youth, was to speed up the development of the area.
The youth said having worked hard to win the seat, which had eluded the party for the past 12 years, it would serve the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) well if all the members remained united and worked together.
The spokesperson for the youth, Mr Kofi Buabeng, made the call in a statement reacting to the recent protest in the area where a section of the youth were said to have protested against the DCE for allegedly kidnapping the assembly member for the Kwanyanko Ofoaso Electoral Area, Mr Emmanuel Arko.
That was after the DCE and the assembly member had engaged in an argument on Okay Fm, an Accra-based radio station, .
But Mr Buabeng said such acts did not inure to the benefit of the ruling party, and, therefore, appealed for calm among the rank and file to put the party in a better position to win the seat again in 2016.
“We are appealing to the President to come into this matter and address the problem. This is because we want to see the area develop.
“After working so hard for 12 years to win the seat, we don’t want our work to be in vain, so we plead with the President to intervene in the matter,” he said.
He congratulated the security agencies on unravelling the alleged disappearance of the assembly member. Mr Buabeng called for further police investigations into the alleged kidnapping of the assembly member.
