Bernard Mornah elected PNC flag bearer for 2024 elections
A former Chairman of the People's National Convention (PNC), Bernard Anbataayela Mornah, leads the party into the December 7 general election, after he won the flagbearership race in the party’s decentralised congress last Saturday.

Mr Mornah polled 1,138 votes as against 216 by his challenger and flag bearer of the party in the 2020 elections, David Apasera, in a two-horse race.
The first decentralised congress of the party took place across the country under the supervision of the Electoral Commission (EC).
The Greater Accra election was initially threatened by a "no money, no vote" demand by the 490 delegates who wanted their transportation fares and allowances to be paid before voting commenced.
It took some party bigwigs to calm them down with assurances before they rescinded their decision. The chant and the late arrival of EC officials dragged the voting process into the evening.
Rallying call
Mr Mornah, a Managing Partner of Ndaana Ghana Ltd and Chief Executive Officer of Gateway Savanah Ltd, subsequently rallied Ghanaians, especially the youth, to help end the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) dominance in the country's political space.
"Our plight is the same, hence our fight must be the same," he said, after being declared the winner.
He said the fight was to restore confidence in the Ghanaian people."Let us celebrate tonight in modesty and get to work tomorrow.

Other winners
The congress also elected other officers of the party, namely Esther Osei Darko as National Women Organiser; Asaki Samson Awingobit as Chairman; Mark Owusu as the National Youth Organiser; Abass Nuhu as National Organiser and Ishaq Awudu as General Secretary.
