Chief questions loyalty of leaders of NDC factions

A well-known traditional ruler of the Techiman North District in the Brong Ahafo Region and the Twafohene of Tuobodom, Opem Ampem Baffour Amo Kofi II, has questioned the loyalty of leaders of the various factions within the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying their actions could derail the fortunes of the party in the 2016 general election.

He said it was time the leadership of the party called such groups to order and punished those behind them to serve as a deterrent to young politicians.

The chief, a known ‘underworld’ supporter of the NDC, said rather than fighting one another, the various groups, especially those in the Ashanti Region and the Techiman South District, should concentrate on spreading President John Dramani Mahama’s  achievements and those of  the party as a whole.

He said the emerging forces and the practice were affront to the beliefs and practices of the social democratic party and it was time they were checked.

Nana Twafohene, one of the financiers of the party in the district, praised the role played by some executive members of the party which had helped to put some of the issues under control and said but for them, things would have been worse.

They included A. A. Mumufie, Francis Yaw Gyarko (now deceased), Sulemana Owusu and Alhaji Kojo Mahma Adams.
