Dr. Stephen Adjei runs for NPP-USA Treasurer, pledges financial discipline
Dr. Stephen Adjei, a veteran finance and accounting professional, has officially entered the race for Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) USA Branch.
A chartered accountant and certified information systems auditor, Dr. Adjei has held senior roles in Ghana and the United States, including Head of Finance at the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC) and Senior Compliance Risk Manager at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Campaigning under the slogan, “Guarding Our Trust, Growing Our Branch,” Dr. Adjei pledges transparency, strong financial management, efficiency, and strategic growth.
He told party members: “I am seeking your partnership in a renewed commitment to financial stewardship, strategic growth, and member empowerment. With your support, we can build a financially robust, transparent, and efficient organisation that serves its members.”
At GIFEC, he chaired the Treasury Management Committee, boosting portfolio returns from GHS 90 million to GHS 110 million in 2019 and recovering disputed interest through negotiation. Colleagues say his expertise and leadership could bring professionalism and accountability to the NPP-USA Branch.
Dr. Adjei’s candidacy is expected to set a high standard for financial governance in the party’s diaspora structures, with members closely watching his campaign ahead of the election.
