Twelve parliamentary candidates, who are all first timers, last Monday received 200 shirts each at the party’s headquarters in Accra.

The white T-shirts were branded with pictures of respective candidates and the party’s presidential candidate, Mr John Dramani Mahama.

Retain NDC

Making the presentation on behalf of the group, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, admonished the candidates to start vigorous campaign in their respective constituencies in order to retain the NDC in government.

According to him, the NDC’s success in government was far better than the other contenders for the November polls.

Mr Spio-Garbrah said the Mahama-led administration had invested so much in transforming the country’s economy.

He, therefore, encouraged the candidates, including party loyalists, to reach out to the grass roots and propagate the party’s good works to the electorate.

The candidates  included Mr Samuel Nartey George, Ningo Prampram constituency;  Alhaji Alidu Haruna, Ablekuma Central; Mr Abdul Rashid Issah, Okaikoi Central; Mr Samuel Atta Mills, Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem; Mr Sam Kwesi Fletcher, Gomoa West; Mr Justice Samuel Adjei, Sunyani West; and Mr Dickson Kyere Duah, Brekum West.
