Ahanta Traditional Area commends President’s choice of Nelson as W/R Minister

The Ahanta Traditional Area and the people of the Western Region have commended President John Dramani Mahama for his choice of Joseph Nelson as the regional minister designate.

The spokesperson for the Ahanta Traditional Area, Nana Etsin Kofi II, said on behalf of Otumfuo Baidoo Bonsoe XVI, Ahantahene, and the Ahanta Traditional Council they were grateful to the President for his choice.

Nana Kofi, who is also the Divisional Chief Ahanta-Aboadze and Saanahene of the traditional area said there was no doubt that the minister designate who was the son of the land and the region would deliver and champion the development of the region.

The region, he said, was naturally endowed and needed a renewed energy to lead its development across all sectors and harness fully the potential for the benefit of the people and the country.

He said even though there were many uncompleted development projects and many areas that required urgent attention to deal with the development deficit, “we know that Mr Nelson, who on many occasions spoke passionately about the development of the region, will deliver now that he has the opportunity.”

Support

Nana Kofi said the traditional area and the region would solidly be behind Mr Nelson and ensure that the region received its fair share of development in the areas of health, education, industries, job creation, agriculture development, the fisheries sector among others.

“As we commend the President for the regional minister and minister of  fisheries designate, we as Oliver Twist, at the face of the President’s commitment to a limited number of ministers still need more ministerial nominations,” he said.
