Graphic holds Town Hall meeting in Ho today

The Volta Regional capital, Ho, takes its turn in the series of town hall meetings being organised by the Graphic Communication Group Limited (GCGL) to promote peace in the 2020 general election.

The town hall meetings, dubbed: "Corporates in Ghana Peace Campaign", are geared towards public sensitisation and education on civic responsibilities and security.

Already, Kumasi and Tamale have had their turn in the scheduled programme, which seeks to get all stakeholders in the electioneering process to commit to peace and make a public declaration to that effect.

Ho ready

At Hotel Stevens in Ho today, personalities in politics and civic society, as well as public duty bearers, are expected to gather to have a discourse over achieving peace before, during and after the 2020 elections.

The GCGL will also lead voices to advocate peace during the period of the elections and after.

Already, the GCGL team, led by the Editor of the Daily Graphic, Mr Kobby Asmah, is in Ho for the programme.

Attendance

Among the personalities who have confirmed their participation in this Ho town hall meeting are the Volta Regional Minister, Dr Archibald Yao Letsa; representatives from the National Commission for Civic Education, the Electoral Commission and the National Peace Council, as well as those of the political parties, the security agencies and other stakeholders.

Graphic shapes discourse

The GCGL has, for 70 years, been a major influence, with the largest national presence in Ghana. With an already burgeoning online presence, the company is set to continue playing significant roles in shaping the socio-political landscape of the country, as well as driving the national development agenda through its flagship publication, the Daily Graphic, now a household brand.

The Corporates in Ghana Peace Campaign will afford participants the platform to enumerate their various efforts towards the maintenance of peace during the elections and also create an avenue for them to pledge to peace.
