Kodua Frimpong leads NPP grass-roots reconnection efforts
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has embarked on a "Rebuilding Our Base" tour, aimed at reinvigorating the party and strengthening its connection with grassroots supporters.
The initiative follows the party's heavy defeat in the 2024 general election.
The General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, accompanied by key party officials commenced the tour at the University of Ghana.
The officials include Director of Finance and Administration, William Yamoah; a Deputy General Secretary, Haruna Mohammed; National Youth Organiser, Salam Mustapha; Deputy National Youth Organiser, Jay Hyde; Ayawaso West Wuogon Chairman, Alhaji Osman; TESCON Patron, Dr Agyanim Boateng; Deputy Director of IT, Stephen Forson, and Deputy Communications Director, George Krobea Asante.
The party also paid a similar visit to the University of Cape Coast where they interacted with the students.
Historical roots
In a Facebook post, Mr Frimpong emphasised the need for the party to reconnect with its historical roots and core supporters to restore its vitality and position itself for future electoral success.
He highlighted the party's rich heritage, tracing its origins to groups such as the United Gold Coast Convention (UGCC), National Liberation Movement (NLM), United Party (UP), Progress Party (UP) and the Popular Front Party (PFP).
Mr Frimpong stressed that rebuilding the party requires acknowledging and reconnecting with these foundational elements to strengthen its core support base.
"The forgotten men and women of NPP will be forgotten no more," he declared, adding that it underscored the party's renewed dedication to inclusivity.
