NPP to set up election review committee
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to establish an election review committee in January 2025 to conduct a post-mortem analysis of the party's defeat in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
The committee will engage with party stakeholders and the general public to identify the factors and circumstances that led to the party's loss.

The National Chairman of the NPP, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, announced this at a news conference held at the party’s headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra yesterday.
He has, therefore, urged party members and sympathisers to remain resolute and determined in the wake of the party's defeat in the 2024 general election.
He encouraged members not to lose hope, saying , “Fellow party members, this means we cannot give up. We must engage the restructuring process with all the energies we can mauster to get the elephant trumpeting again.”
Reforms
"We have a firm belief that the work of the election review committee will enable our people to express their concerns and bring out suggestions and the necessary reforms to restructure our party," Mr Ntim said. He said the committee would also examine the need for constitutional amendments and restructuring of the party's internal decision-making processes, particularly in electing presidential, parliamentary candidates and party executives.
Mr Ntim acknowledged that the period was a challenging time for the party, but expressed confidence in the NPP's resilience.
"We must and we will rise again from this defeat. We will be reorganising ourselves for the battles of tomorrow," he emphasised.
