Stick with NPP to continue with good works - Dr Bawumia tells nurses
The flag bearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged health personnel, particularly nursing trainees, to stick with him to continue with the good policies introduced by the government.

Dr Bawumia who was addressing students of the Nursing and Midwifery Training School at Teshie in the Ledzokuku Constituency in the Greater Accra Region yesterday, also reminded the trainee nurses that the NPP government would not cancel their allowance.
He said even when the allowance delayed, it was better than when it was cancelled.
Investments
Dr Bawumia who threw more light on the investments the government had made in the health sector since assuming office, said about 200,000 medical personnel had been recruited in the last seven years.
Again, he said 2,456 pharmacists had been hooked onto the e-pharmacy platform, which he said had been completed to make drugs easily accessible to Ghanaians.
He also mentioned the provision of over 300 ambulances, the resuscitation of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the on-boarding of sickle cell and kidney dialysis onto the scheme as some of the major interventions of the government in the sector.
He said he would reintroduce the car import duty waiver which was taken away by the former president to improve conditions of people posted to rural areas.
The NPP flag bearer said there were two front runners in the December presidential election, and that the choice would determine whether “we are going forward or backwards.”

He, however, said “We are moving in a new direction to make life easier for everybody.”
The NPP parliamentary candidate for Ledzokuku, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, for his part, said politics was all about the creation of jobs and development of Ghana.
He described Dr Bawumia as a selfless personality who was passionate about sacrificing for the country.
Tour
As part of the tour, Dr Bawumia moved to the La Dadekotopon Constituency, where he called on the La Traditional Council and also the La Kpaa Wolomo.
He continued to the La Market and the main 37 Military Hospital lorry park, all in the La Dade Kotopon Constituency, to interact with traders and drivers.
The ‘possibilities’ bus later made a whistle stop at the Arts Centre at Accra Central in the Korle Klottey Constituency.
Dr Bawumia who was flanked by the NPP parliamentary candidate for the Korle Klottey Constituency, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, met and interacted with the traders and a crowd of female head porters (kayayei) at the centre.
He later engaged with traditional leaders, imams, pastors and other stakeholders at the AMA conference centre at Kinbu to share his message of "bold solutions" with them.
The NPP flag bearer also visited the garages at Odawna at Adabraka and also the Kwame Nkrumah Circle where he addressed traders and drivers.
Support
The NPP parliamentary candidate for Korle Klottey, Mr Nortey, appealed for support to get him elected to help propel the development of the constituency.
Reiterating his resolve to reduce the burden of the payment of electricity bills on the people, Dr Bawumia said "God has gifted us energy from the sun, free of charge so we need to harness it.”
“We would increase the power generated through solar by 2000 megawatts, and this would reduce electricity bills by 50 per cent.
"Generating this 2000 megawatts would require a lot of solar panels, and I do not want us to import solar panels so we will set up factories here in Ghana for the manufacturing of solar panels," Dr Bawumia emphasised.
