Use dialogue to address electoral grievances
The Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church, Rt Rev. Dr Emmanuel Kwadwo Asare-Kusi, has appealed to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to suspend its impending demonstration against the Electoral Commission (EC).

The NDC is scheduled to go on demonstration today at EC offices across the country to demand a forensic audit of the voters register for the elections.
The party, he said, should rather dialogue with the EC to address issues raised by the party with respect to the voters register.
He stated that it was needless to embark on demonstrations at this period because that might build up tension which would not be in the interest of Ghanaians since it would disturb the peace that the country was currently enjoying.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Graphic at Koforidua last Sunday, Rt Rev. Dr Asare-Kusi said peace was necessary, particularly for the younger generation.
“What we need in Ghana now to resolve differences is dialogue but not demonstrations which are likely to worsen the situation because jaw-jaw is better than war-war,” the Bishop stated.
He therefore urged the NDC to abandon the path of demonstrations by resorting to negotiations to address the issue.
Rt Rev. Dr Asare-Kusi said although the Clergy would continue to pray for the peaceful resolution of all issues relating to the upcoming general election, politicians should also cherish peace at this crucial period of Ghana’s history.
