He was accompanied by constituency executive members, representatives of market women, taxi drivers, transport unions and other identifiable groups, who were invited to see at first hand some of the projects which were unknown to the constituents.

The group visited projects initiated by the MP, Ho Municipal Assembly, the Central Government and the Ministry of Local Government.

Projects visited

Some of the projects are the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), the Ho market, the Sokode Abattoir, the landfill (the waste disposal site), a two-storey demonstration block for the College of Nursing in Ho, an airport and several classroom projects dotted in the communities.

At the UHAS, Mr Kpodo told the entourage that the project completed so far was only for the School of Basic and Biomedical Sciences and that there were five schools earmarked for the university.

He told the chiefs and elders at Takla that the government had approved the construction of the road from Ho through Kpenoe to Takla to join the Tokokoe and Nyive road and that work would soon start.

At the market, a representative of the consultants, Mr Bernard Otoo, said the project was expected to be completed by November and that they were working day and night to meet the deadline.

Spreading of message

Mr Kpodo urged members of the entourage to spread the good news of what they had seen to the people so as to empower them to ignore the falsehood being peddled by opponents of the party.

For his part, the Ho Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Feg Afedo, said what they had seen must motivate the people to remain resolute that the NDC would not make vain promises but would fix all problems to bring the desired comfort to the people.
