Joan Gyan Cudjoe announces candidacy for Amenfi Central NDC parliamentary primary
Entrepreneur and philanthropist Joana Gyan Cudjoe has reaffirmed her intention to contest in the upcoming rerun of the parliamentary primary for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Amenfi Central, Western North Region.
Ms. Cudjoe originally won the party's primary held on May 13, 2023, but the results were annulled by the party's Functional Executive Committee on September 3, 2024, following various allegations that surfaced during the election.

In a statement dated Friday, September 6, 2024, Ms. Cudjoe expressed her determination to re-enter the race, stating, "This rerun presents us with a renewed opportunity to come together and build a stronger Amenfi Central. I remain deeply committed to our shared vision of progress, development, and empowerment for all."
She reiterated her campaign focus on advocating for improvements in education, infrastructure, healthcare, and economic opportunities to uplift every part of the constituency.
Ms. Cudjoe called on all constituents to support her candidacy, saying, "I need the support of everyone—our youth, women, men, elders, and all stakeholders—to make this vision a reality. Together, we can overcome the challenges before us and create lasting change that benefits the entire community."
Her goal is to represent the NDC in the December 7 general election.
The party opened its nomination today, September 6, 2024, with the main election slated for September 8, 2024.
