Mahama donates relief items to Buipe flood victims

Former President, John Dramani Mahama, has donated assorted items to support victims of the Buipe flood.

The items included 100 bags of rice, 50 cartons of cooking oil, 50 cartons of bottled water, and 50 cartons of soap.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Yapei-Kusawgu, John Abdulai Jinapor, handed over the items to the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) officers in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region for onward distribution to the flood victims on behalf of the former President.

Mr Jinapor explained that the former President shared in the plight of all the people who had been affected by the floods as a result of the overflow of the banks of the Black Volta in the constituency and the Savannah Region at large.

He called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to as a matter of urgency, come to the aid of the already suffering people of the constituency.

He further called on benevolent organisations and individuals to consider the plight of the women and their children who were the most vulnerable.

Gratitude

The Central Gonja District NADMO Director, Mustapher Mbonwura, expressed his gratitude for the gesture of the former President.

He added his voice to the call the MP made to organisations and individuals to emulate same to ameliorate the suffering of the people.
