NDC is rejecting collated results for all 4 outstanding constituencies, it is 'illegal and unlawful' - Rashid Tanko

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced that it will not accept the collation and declaration of results for the four outstanding constituencies, labeling the process as "illegal and unlawful."

According to Rashid Tanko Computer, the NDC Deputy Director of Elections and IT, the party has filed an appeal and stay of execution against the Accra High Court ruling that ordered the Electoral Commission (EC) to complete the collation of the results.

Rashid Tanko Computer speaking to the media on Sunday afternoon (Jan 5) stated that the NDC instructed its parliamentary candidates not to participate in the collation exercise, as the party is following due process.

He also claimed that the EC has been served with court processes, and therefore, the commission should not have proceeded with the exercise.

The four constituencies that had been outstanding three of which the EC on Sunday completed collation and declared in favour of the NPP are Tema Central, Okaikwei Central and Techiman South.

That of Ablekuma North has not been completed.

The High Court in Accra had given the EC until Monday, January 6, 2025, to complete the collation and declare the winners.
