Nii Noi Nortey, Ahmed Arthur win NPP primaries

The New Patriotic Party will be represented by Messrs Nii Noi Nortey and Ahmed Arthur for the Klottey Korle and Okaikoi South constituencies respectively in the 2016 parliamentary elections.

The duo returned massive votes on Sunday during the two constituency primaries held by the party under the supervision of the Electoral Commission.

While Nii Noi bagged 393 votes to win the race from Philip Addison (22 votes) and Adjei Tawiah (19 votes), the contest in the Okaikoi South constituency turned out a lopsided event in favor of incumbent MP, Ahmed Arthur, who polled 505 votes against the 29 votes garnered by her challenger, Vicky Bright.

Losers in both races alleged electoral fraud, but it was not immediately clear if any intended to contest the result.
