NPP condemns electoral misconduct in Kintampo South, calls for Immediate prosecution
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has condemned a case of electoral misconduct in Kintampo South involving an Electoral Commission (EC) officer, who was arrested for allegedly issuing defective ballot papers during the ongoing elections.
The arrest of Joseph Dery, the EC officer in question, has triggered widespread outrage within the NPP and among its supporters, who view the incident as an attempt to undermine the integrity of the election.

According to a police report, the irregularity was flagged by vigilant polling station officials and party agents who noticed the omission of Bawumia’s name from the ballot papers at the station.
After receiving the alert, law enforcement swiftly intervened, arresting Dery on suspicion of tampering with the voting process.
Speaking at a press conference following the incident, Denis Miracles Aboagye, spokesperson for the Bawumia Campaign, expressed the party's strong disapproval and called for immediate action.
"The NPP demands the immediate prosecution of Joseph Dery. What he has done is a deliberate attempt to disenfranchise the Ghanaian people, to deprive voters of their fundamental right to participate in a free and fair election," Mr Aboagye stated.
He also warned that the NPP would continue to monitor the election closely and take action against any further attempts to manipulate the process. "Let everyone involved in such acts, particularly those linked to the NDC, know that we have a robust system in place at every polling station to detect and expose any wrongdoing, no matter the machinations," he added.
The incident in Kintampo South has raised concerns over the potential for electoral manipulation, with the NPP stressing the need for full accountability to maintain public trust in Ghana’s democratic processes.
