NPP salutes newly elected 265 constituency executives

 

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has successfully conducted elections in 265 constituencies throughout the country.  Out of the 275 constituencies, 265 have been completed, leaving 10 outstanding constituencies which are in court.

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party has,therefore, congratulated members of the party at the various levels on a successful conduct of elections at the polling stations, electoral areas and constituencies across the country.

Among the officers elected were polling station agents and constituency executive members.

According to a press release issued in Accra and signed by Mr Perry Okudzeto, acting Director of Communications of the NPP, the NEC also approved a national elections committee to supervise the upcoming national executive elections slated for March 1.

The statement said the elections would be held simultaneously at regional polling stations across the country on the scheduled date.

 The statement named Most Rev. Dr Sam Asante-Antwi, Mr  Ayikoi Otoo, Dr K.K. Sarpong, Dr Adjei Bawuah, Brigadier Joseph Odei, Mrs Catherine Afeku, Madam Cecilia Dapaa and Mr Martin Adjei Mensah Korsah as members of the national elections committee with Mr C.K. Tedam as Chairman.

The statement said Mr Abdulai Fuhlamba, Mr Opare Hammond, Mr Antwi Agyei, Mr Charles Owiredu, Mr Perry Okudzeto, Ms Mariam Frimpong-Ansah and Ms Thelma Agyenim-Boateng have also been approved to assist the committee.

According to the statement, the national elections committee will be responsible for vetting all aspirants and the supervision of the national officer’s election.

The statement stressed that it would also hear any vetting appeals that may come from the regions for the neccessary action.
