It is on the theme: “Saluting national icons whose social, political, economic and cultural achievements engender peace and development in the three northern regions.”

There will also be musical peace concert at the Tamale Sports Stadium later in the evening. NYUPED is a civil society organisation that believes in social equity, probity and accountability, empowering of vulnerable and marginalised people in society, and strong advocates for respect for fundamental human rights and freedoms of all persons, regardless of their tribe, tongue and social status.

The National Achievers Award was initiated by NYUPED in 2012 as one of the key objectives  to honour patrons, individuals and corporate entities, who have excellently impacted society with social interventions and general contributions towards the uplift of the poor and underprivileged especially and more importantly the youth.
