Project management expert eyes Akatsi North NDC seat

The upcoming parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), slated for November 7, this year continues to attract professionals.

One of such experts is Dr Donald Senanu Agumenu, a leading project management specialist in Africa. He is seeking to become the party’s parliamentary candidate for the Akatsi North Constituency in the 2016 general election.

The Akatsi North constituency seat is currently occupied by Mr Peter Kotoe-Nortsu.

He replaced Mr Doe Adjaho who was made the Speaker of Parliament afer winning the seat in the 2008 elections.

The multiple award winning Honorarian Rotarian said he was bringing his expertise on board to support President John Mahama’s administration, the people of the Akatsi North Constituency and the nation at large.

Dr Agumenu who said he places a high premium on rural enterprise development indicated that he was poised to use his skills to enhance enterprise growth and sustainability, serve humanity and improve human capital development across the private and public sector respectively.

He disclosed that the business community was applauding his quest to become a legislator, because “Ghana at this stage of her development needs top corporate executives and experts to contribute to accelerated nation building and form part of the economic, industrial and legislative architects for our development.

Track Record

Dr Agumenu has received and built capacity in conflict management, labour and employment law and many others. Coupled with that, he is the Approved Training Partner, Coordinator and the Lead Instructor for the Certified Manager Certification Programme for the Institute of Certified Professional Managers, James Madison University for West Africa.

He has consulted and trained thousands of middle to senior corporate and public executives locally and internationally and presently plays advisory roles on many professional, non-profit and corporate boards.

He is the Executive Secretary of the African Project and Programme Management Association, (APPMA) and is also the convener of the African Project and Programme Management Conference (APPMC) held yearly in Nigeria and Ghana.

Donald is a Certified Professional Trainer, a leadership and Management Consultant, Certified Programme Planner and the President of the Direct Leadership Institute.

He is also the Chief Executive Officer in charge of Africa for the International Association for People and Performance Development (IAPPD) and in charge of 48 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

He is the lead Consultant and Facilitator for uniBank Ghana Banking School in Leadership and Management, a Master Class and Executive Management Development (Series) Programme for managers and supervisors, since 2012.

He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Leadership and Management, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master Project Manager, Certified International Project Management Certification and the prestigious Certified Manager Certification (CM).
