Refrain from acts that could jeopardise NPP unity - Nana Akufo-Addo tells supporters
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2012 elections, has reiterated his caution to his supporters to refrain from any negative acts or statements that could jeopardise the unity of the New Patriotic Party.
In a statement issued by his office, he said that ‘’all NPP members who support my bid to lead the party for the 2016 elections should not be provoked by comments or actions, and be dragged into any discourse that may damage the party’s forward march to victory.’’

According to the statement, this was a contest between members of one family, the great elephant family, and as such they must be guided and guarded constantly by an uncompromising sense of unity, fellowship and greater purpose.
The NPP, the statement said, had always stood for competition and choice, and that Nana Akufo-Addo was a firm believer in those principles just as delegates of the party were and that they would at the right time choose the candidate who they believe would best serve the interest of the party.
It said the people of Ghana were looking up to the party to make the necessary arrangements that would give them the confidence to entrust it with the mandate to serve them once again.
‘’ Ghanaians are looking to the NPP to restore hope and offer the kind of purposeful leadership that will speed up the development of our nation and the prosperity of every Ghanaian.” the statement concluded.
