Sissala East Young Democrats appeal to Prez to nominate DCE
Members of the Sissala East District Young Democrats, a political pressure group, have appealed to the President to re-nominate a competent person for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) to push the development of the district forward.
According to the group, the delay by the President in re-nominating somebody for confirmation after the rejection of Mr Moses Bavia had affected the public business of the assembly and the smooth-running of all the departments.
The group stated this in a petition signed by Ayine Bawa Fatawu, Assistant Communication Director of the group at Tumu in the Sissala East District of the Upper West Region, and copied to the Ghana News Agency in Wa.
“For the sake of administrative expediency, security, accountability, judicious use of scarce resources, and equal allocation of development opportunities and projects to all, we appeal to the President to re-nominate a competent and acceptable person to take charge of the affairs of the district.”
The petition said the youth had already decided unanimously to block the main road from Tumu to Burkina Faso, public offices and facilities beginning next week, as a first sign of more protests to follow if the President failed to heed their appeal.
