Zanetor raises concerns over alleged vote-buying in Korle Klottey
The Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey Constituency, Dr Zanetor Agyemang-Rawlings, has expressed deep concern over reports of alleged vote-buying at polling stations within her constituency during the ongoing elections.
In an interview after casting her vote at the Ridge Church School A, Dr Agyemang-Rawlings revealed that she had witnessed incidents where individuals were distributing money to voters in queues, attempting to influence their voting decisions.

“We have observed incidents at several polling stations where money was being given to voters in the queue, with instructions on how to vote. At one polling station, we had to confront the individual involved and demand that Electoral Commission (EC) officials and the police remove them from the premises,” she stated.
She confirmed that the police took immediate action in response to the incident but voiced concerns about the wider implications of such practices on the electoral process.
“This is an alarming trend, and we must remain vigilant to ensure that the election remains free, fair and free of any form of vote-buying or intimidation,” she added.
The MP urged voters to resist monetary inducements and instead vote based on their conscience, stressing the importance of making decisions that would benefit the future of the country.
“No amount of money can erase the hardships of the past eight years or solve the challenges ahead. This election is about choosing the path forward for Ghana, based on reality and what’s best for the future of the nation,” she said.
Dr Agyemang-Rawlings, who is seeking re-election, faces competition from Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate. Mr Nortey previously contested the seat as an independent candidate in 2016 but was defeated.
