$175,000 for local Black Stars after qualifying for quarter-finals
The Local Black Stars have earned US$ 175,000 for qualifying for the quarter-finals of the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Maxwell Konadu’s side topped Group C with seven points after beating Congo, Ethiopia and drawing 1-1 with Libya.
Ghana will face DR Congo on Sunday in a first- quarter-finals clash at Mangaung’s Free State Stadium.
The local Black Stars will earn US$ 250,000 if they advance to semi-finals and finish either third or fourth.
The winner of this year’s tournament will pocket US$ 750,000 and the runners-up will be paid US$ 400,000.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that a total of US$ 3.2 million would be paid as prize monies for this year’s tournament in South Africa.
