Both deals are expected to cover an initial two-year period and Coach Kwesi  Appiah is more than happy to be part of an indigenous company.

" From the start, Unibank believed in me and supported me during the World Cup qualifying campaign. I think I can only reciprocate this kind gesture by being associated with the bank. It's an indigenous bank, our very own and we must support them to succeed," Coach Appiah told the Graphic Sports in an  interview.

Dr Kwabena Duffuor II, the Chief Operating Officer of UniBank, said the bank was committed to supporting the Stars to excel and had planned a series of  activities to garner more support for the Stars in their World Cup campaign in  Brazil.

" We are proud of our roots as an indigenous bank and very proud that an  indigenous son of the land will lead the national team to the World Cup in  Brazil.

"The Stars have become the number one brand of the country and it is important  we support them in whatever way we can to ensure their success at the World  Cup.

" Like UniBank, the Stars have become successful and very competitive. Brazil  2014 will be an important moment for the Stars and it is important we encourage them in whatever way. Making them brand icons, is only one of the ways to  encourage and motivate them to excel even further," Dr Duffuor indicated.

UniBank last year joined the Stars' sponsors team as the official bank of the  team and signed an initial three-year contract which would be renewed upon expiration in 2016.
