Playing a determined game the Ghanaians clearly dominated play throughout the 90 minutes creating all the good chances in the exchanges.

On the few occassions when the Algerians threatened goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi responded very well to the call as he rescued the Porcupine Warriors from trouble, particularly towards the end of the game when the El Eulma attack fired from all angles in an attempt to break the deadlock.

The  defence  of Kotoko led by Abeiku Ainooson with support from Amos Frimpong, Eric Donkor, and Atta Kusi did their part as it resisted all the forays of the homesters.

Dauda Mohammed was brought on in the 53rd minute for Emmanuel Asante to add more bite upfront for Kotoko, but the Algerians defended very well to deny the visitors the chance to score.

The second leg will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in two weeks time.
