Polo smiles at last after 1-0 win

Crisis-hit Accra Hearts of Oak registered an important 1-0 win over Aduana Stars last Saturday at the Agyeman Badu II Park in Dormaa-Ahenkro to give under-fire coach Mohammed Polo a big relief.

The sweet victory, courtesy Eric Kumi’s 57th minute strike, propelled the Phobians to the second position, four points adrift of leaders Kotoko who have two outstanding games. 

The crucial away win - the first in four games - put broad smiles on the face of legendary Polo who has been under severe pressure from the teeming supporters in recent weeks following the club’s poor form.

Ashantigold suffered a shocking home defeat in the First Capital Plus Premier League yesterday after falling 0-2 to Bechem United in their 17th week fixture at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
