Prophet Otabil demands GH¢40,000 to fortify Stars?

The qualification of the Black Stars from Group G, described by many connoisseurs as the ‘group of death’, has now taken a spiritual dimension as a Pokuase-based spiritualist is demanding GH¢40,000 from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to fortify the players and boost their chances.

“The money being demanded is not for my personal use but to buy some items for rituals that will make it possible for the Black Stars to defeat the United States of America, Germany and Portugal at the group stage,” the Spiritualist, Prophet Kwaku Mensah Otabil, founder of Christ True Word of God at Pokuase in the Ga East District in the Greater Accra Region, told the Graphic Sports in a telephone interview yesterday.

 “If they doubt my capabilities, they can pay the money into a specific account while I use my own money to buy the items and perform the rituals, after which they pay it into my own account” he challenged.

When questioned if the GH¢40, 000 rituals would be enough to see the Black Stars through to the finals for the first time, he said “that is another thing to be considered.”

“For now, my spiritual prowess is to take the Black Stars through the group stage if I am given the money. Other things will follow afterwards.”

According to Prophet Otabil, his spiritual prowess was known to many high profile personalities of the GFA, and, therefore, dismissed the idea that the money being demanded was too huge.

“If you consider the teams Ghana will play at that stage, you will appreciate the fact that the job to qualify the Black Stars from the group stage is too difficult, so paying just GH¢40,000 as the cost of items to see the Stars through the group stage is nothing”,  he explained.

He boasted, “I know what I am capable of, and many of the Black Stars players can also attest to the numerous spiritual benefits they have received from me, so it is a challenge I have thrown to Ghanaians that I can help  qualify the Black Stars to the knockout stages especially if the money is paid and on time. There is no way I will disappoint them.”

To buttress his spiritual prowess, Prophet Otabil mentioned the names of some politicians who had also benefited from his spiritual operations at various stages of their lives and therefore insisted that his demand was not fraudulent, but a genuine one designed to bring great honour to the country, in particular, and the entire African continent generally.

He said he was well endowed in such an aspect, explaining  that it was a special blessing by God of which many first division  teams in Ghana have benefited from qualifying to play in the premier division.

“What I am demanding is for the purpose of helping me meet my expenditure for the Stars to beat USA, Germany and Portugal. They are just to meet the cost of buying the items for the rituals and not to make  profits.

 The money should come from officials of the GFA, and I am hopeful that as soon as it is paid, something productive will come out from it,” he explained
