Revolution: adidas, Nike compete for boots style
The revolution of the football has taken a dramatic shift. The battle of the brands has begun and it is claimed ‘football will never be the same again’.
That was the bold statement delivered by Nike, who countered the release from rivals adidas with the launch of their new Magista boot in Barcelona.
Just hours ahead of the American sports giants’ multi-million pound unveiling, German brand adidas fired the first shot, showcasing their forthcoming all-in-one boot and sock hybrid primeknit offering in an early ambush on Twitter.
But Nike’s launch did not disappoint with Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta the main attraction to show off the revolutionary silos in Spain.
The World Cup winner stood alone on a constructed pitch holding the distinctive silhouette boot, bright in yellow and red (which has also been created in a purple ensemble).
“The fit of this boot is so unique that I don’t think about it when I’m wearing it,”said the Spain international.
“It allows me to move the I need to instinctively and with more confidence.
“This boot is different from everything we’ve seen before,” added Iniesta.
