The qualified clubs are Krystal Palace Academy from Akosombo and Right to DreamAcademy based at Old Akrade. Krystal Palace topped the Zone 1 league, while Right to Dream won the best performer category to join Krystal Palace in the middle league.

The 16 clubs which have qualified to play in the middle league are expected to be declared by the Regional Football Association before the commencement of the middle league.

In an interview with the Graphic Sports, Mr K. Boateng, Chief Executive Officer of Krystal Palace, said this was the third time his club was going to participate in the competition.

Mr Boateng expressed the hope that the RFA executive and other related committees would do well to rid the middle league of bias and other negative tendencies which usually characterise the choice of the right club to play in the National First Division League from the Eastern Region.

He stressed that all clubs in one way or the other spent huge sums of money to prepare for competitions and, therefore, it would be unfair for some elements to cash in at the expense of other clubs.

“These, among other issues, have plagued hardworking clubs in competitive football in the region,” he stated.

Mr Boateng said since clubs like Abuakwa Susubiribi, Nsawam Ghanacan, Akotex, Obuotabiri, Akwatia Diamond Stars, Kwaebibirim, Okwahu Stores, now Okwawu United, and others had been struggling to bring fame to the region, but for obvious reasons no premiership club had emerged from the region to the disappointment of all.
